What Is the School Leadership Team?

The School Leadership Team is a group of school community members responsible for shaping and guiding our school’s educational priorities and policies. SLTs help make important decisions that affect student achievement and school culture.

Who makes up the School Leadership Team?

Required members include:

• Principal
• Parent Association/Parent-Teacher Association President
• United Federation of Teachers (UFT) Chapter Leader
• Elected parents and staff members (equal number of parents and staff is required).web

Optional members (depending on the school’s bylaws):

• Students (required in high schools)
• Community-based organization representatives.
