ASD Nest Program

Our ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) Nest Program has one Nest class on each grade level from Kindergarten through Fifth grade. These classes are designed to “nest” high academically performing children with autism in fully inclusive classrooms. As a specialized model of ICT (Integrated Co-Teaching), these classes have two teachers, a special-education teacher and a general-education teacher. This program is a collaboration between New York City Department of Education and New York University. Brilliant NYC

Brilliant NYC (formerly Gifted and Talented)

The Department of Education’s previous Gifted and Talented (G&T) program is being phased out and reshaped.

Current G&T classes will continue in the G&T program as they move up from kindergarten through the fifth grade.

The new program is called Brilliant NYC. The blueprint for this program includes seeing students for their strengths, designing rich learning experiences, and real-word projects.
